Converting the Epson 440/600/740 to print PCBs

  1. Remove the top cover
    1. Remove the screw at the back-left side of the printer.
    2. Remove the screw at the back-right side of the printer.
    3. Open the top cover
    4. Remove the screw on the left side of the top cover.
    5. Remove the screw on the right side of the top cover.
    6. Move the print head assembly all the way to the right, under the plastic.
    7. Pick up the top cover, up and toward the back of the printer.
  2. Remove the print cartridges.
  3. Remove the paper tray
    1. Remove the big screw on the left side of the paper tray.
    2. Remove the black tape on the ribbon cables that are routed through the paper tray.
    3. un-route the cable that is routed through the tray's plastic, on the left hand side of the tray. you will need slack from undoing the other end of the cable to accomplish this.
    4. Remove the black tape on the cables on the back of the right hand side of the printer, and remove them from the clip holding them in place. This is to allow some slack on the wire going all the way across the back of the printer.
    5. Un-route the 3 pin cable from the paper tray at the back left side of the printer.
